A beautifully sculptural antique Dehua (Chinese blanc de chine) white porcelain compote, featuring a scalloped, ruffled-edge bowl raised on an elaborate figural stem. The base is richly decorated with applied lily pads, morning glory-style flowers, and a pair of charming bird figures nestled among the foliage, all rendered in crisp relief detail beneath the characteristic ivory-white glaze Dehua ware is prized for. The bowl's undulating rim and vine-like handles add wonderful movement to the piece.
