Lot 198: Pair of Antique Amber Glass Apothecary Bottles

Description

Set of two antique amber glass bottles, likely used for medicine, tonic, or household products in the late 19th to early 20th century. The smaller bottle is cylindrical with a tooled lip, while the larger is rectangular/paneled with a threaded finish, both showing pontil-free bases typical of machine or semi-automatic bottle production of the period. No embossing or labels are legible on either bottle. Amber glass bottles like these are popular with collectors of antique apothecary and bottle-digging finds for their honey-toned color and utilitarian, hand-finished character. Larger bottle measures approximately 4.25" H x 2.5" L x 1.5" W; smaller bottle is proportionally shorter.

Condition:

Good antique condition. Wear commensurate with age, including light exterior soiling/mineral deposits typical of old glass (see photos). No chips or cracks noted to either bottle. Please review photos closely; we do our best to catch all flaws but small imperfections can be missed.
