Finely woven coiled basket in an olla (jar) form, with a rounded body narrowing to a shaped, slightly flared rim opening. The tight, even coiling is decorated with a bold stepped/zigzag diagonal pattern in tan, rust-brown, and dark brown-black natural fiber tones. This fine coiling technique and geometric design style are consistent with basketry from the Darién region of Panama, traditionally made by Wounaan or Emberá artisans using chunga palm fiber, with colors achieved through natural plant dyes — this tradition is especially known for producing baskets with exceptionally fine, tight coils. A specific maker and exact age aren't confirmed from the photos alone, but the density and quality of the weave are consistent with genuine hand-produced Darién basketry rather than a coarser tourist piece.
