Lot 54: Antique Wooden Nutcracker Nut & Bolt Design

Description

A clever antique novelty nutcracker cleverly whittled/turned in the whimsical form of an oversized hexagonal nut and threaded bolt, measuring 4" x 2". The piece works via a screw mechanism: the threaded bolt turns into the hollow hexagonal "nut" body to crack the shell, a fun bit of functional folk woodworking that doubles as a conversation piece. The rich dark wood shows a lovely aged patina with smooth, well-handled surfaces throughout. A charming find for collectors of antique treen, folk-art kitchen tools, novelty nutcrackers, or primitive woodenware.

Condition: Overall good antique condition with functional screw mechanism. Wood shows expected age-related patina, minor surface wear, and small drying cracks typical of antique treen, shown in photos.
