Description

Hand-thrown stoneware plate with a wide unglazed buff rim and a deep blue crater/lava glaze pooled in the well, showing a radiating crackled texture with flashes of green and rust. Underside inscribed "Oscar Bucher / Santa Barbara." Oscar Bucher (b. 1931) is a Santa Barbara, California studio potter and longtime head of the ceramics department at Santa Barbara City College, known for his crater/lava glaze work.
